Battle of Assandun

The Battle of Assandun reaches its climax as King Edmund Ironside's Anglo-Saxon forces clash fiercely with Cnut the Great's Viking army. The battlefield is chaotic, with heavy casualties on both sides

Setting

A vast, open field near Ashingdon, Essex, with rolling hills and scattered trees. The ground is uneven, marked by trampled grass and patches of mud from recent rains. The battlefield is littered with the remnants of war—broken shields, discarded weapons, and the fallen.

A burly man in his late 30s, with a thick beard streaked with grey and a prominent scar running from his left temple to his jaw. His muscular frame bears the marks of numerous battles, and his piercing blue eyes reflect both weariness and determination.
Viking Warrior
secondary
A towering figure with a muscular build, standing around 6 feet tall. His face is weathered from years of battle, with a thick, unkempt beard and piercing blue eyes. A young Anglo-Saxon warrior in his mid-20s, with a lean but muscular build from years of training. His face is streaked with dirt and blood, his fair hair matted with sweat and grime. A deep gash runs across his left shoulder, and his right leg is badly wounded, making movement difficult.
