Entry of the Fourth Crusade into Constantinople

Crusader knights and Venetian forces breach the walls of Constantinople, leading to chaotic clashes with Byzantine defenders and panicked civilians fleeing the violence.

Setting

The breach in the Theodosian Walls of Constantinople, near the Gate of Charisius. The massive stone walls, once impregnable, now have a gaping hole where siege engines have battered through. Rubble and debris litter the ground, mixing with broken weapons and bodies. Inside the walls, narrow streets of the city lead towards the heart of Constantinople, with houses and shops hastily abandoned.

Dialog

Crusader Knight Deus vult! Forward, brothers! The gates of this perfidious city are broken—let not a single heretic stand in our path!
Byzantine Commander Hold the line! Shield wall at the breach—let not a single Frank pass! For the Emperor and the City!
Venetian Captain Crossbowmen—loose at their officers! A dead commander is worth a hundred gold bezants.
