Assassination of Commodus

Commodus, the Roman Emperor, is relaxing in his bath when his wrestling partner Narcissus approaches him with the intent to assassinate him. The guards are distracted by the New Year's Eve celebration

Setting

The imperial palace baths in Rome, a grand and opulent space with high vaulted ceilings and marble walls. The room is dominated by a large, heated pool where Commodus relaxes, surrounded by steam rising from the warm water. The bath is dimly lit, with flickering oil lamps casting shadows on the intricate mosaics depicting mythological scenes. The entrance to the bath is partially obscured by heavy drapes, and the distant sounds of New Year's Eve celebrations can be heard from outside.

TNGF
SELECTED
Commodus
primary
A well-built man in his early 30s, with a muscular frame honed by years of gladiatorial training. His face is handsome but carries the arrogance of absolute power, with sharp features and piercing eyes. His skin is lightly tanned from exposure to the sun, and his dark brown hair is slightly damp from the bath, curling at the ends.
Narcissus
primary
A powerfully built man in his late 30s, with a wrestler's physique—broad shoulders, thick neck, and muscular arms honed from years of training. His olive skin is marked with old scars from the palaestra, and his dark hair is cropped short in military fashion. His hands are large and calloused, capable of both grappling holds and lethal force.
Guard Captain
secondary
A tall, broad-shouldered man in his late 30s with a weathered face and a short, practical beard. His muscular build is evident even beneath his armor, and his dark eyes are sharp but currently distracted. A scar runs diagonally across his left cheekbone, a testament to past battles.
Slave Attendant
background
A young male slave, likely in his early twenties, with a lean but muscular build from years of physical labor. His dark hair is cropped short in the typical Roman slave fashion, and his olive skin is marked with faint scars from past punishments. His eyes are wide with shock, and his mouth is slightly agape.
