Dialog
Oswald of Northumbria
Brothers in Christ, before us stands the foe who would see the light of our faith extinguished. But as the Lord delivered David from Goliath, so shall He deliver us this day!
Priest
May the Lord sanctify your arms, and may His angels shield you from harm. As Christ himself bore the cross, so do we carry it into battle.
Northumbrian Warrior
By the Holy Cross, we'll send these pagans to meet their gods!
Oswald of Northumbria
This very ground where we now stand shall be called Heavenfield, for today we fight not just for land, but for the kingdom of God's grace!
Priest
Corpus Domini nostri Jesu Christi custodiat animas vestras. Let His body and blood strengthen you, my children.
Northumbrian Warrior
Aye, and we'll plant more crosses where their heathen banners fall!
Oswald of Northumbria
Then let us advance under the sign of salvation, and may God grant us victory or a martyr's crown!
