Death of Emperor Vitellius
Emperor Vitellius is dragged through the streets of Rome by Vespasian's troops and executed at the Gemonian stairs, marking the violent end of his reign during the Year of the Four Emperors.
Setting
The Gemonian stairs in Rome, a steep and narrow flight of steps leading from the Capitoline Hill to the Roman Forum. The steps are worn smooth by centuries of use, flanked by crumbling stone walls and overlooked by the imposing Temple of Jupiter Optimus Maximus. The air is thick with the scent of blood and sweat, and the ground is slick with melting snow and mud.
